For developers, building a reliable Optical Character Recognition (OCR) pipeline is notoriously difficult. You have to select the right machine learning models, tune them for accuracy across different languages, manage heavy GPU infrastructure for inference, and figure out how to scale it all when traffic spikes.
It’s time spent maintaining infrastructure rather than building your core product.
Today, SilverLining.Cloud is excited to announce the launch of our High-Accuracy OCR API, now available directly through the AWS Marketplace. We’ve taken the complexity out of text extraction, offering a powerful, serverless solution that integrates seamlessly into your existing AWS workflows.
Our new API is built on top of the state-of-the-art PaddleOCR engine, renowned for its speed and accuracy, especially with complex layouts and non-English languages.
We’ve wrapped this powerful engine in a scalable, serverless architecture. You don't need to provision EC2 instances, manage containers, or worry about auto-scaling groups. You simply make a REST API call with a URL to your image or PDF, and we return structured, usable data.
While standard cloud OCR services exist, we found they often fell short in critical areas—specifically regarding pricing models, multi-language support for niche markets, and handling complex multi-page documents.
Here is how our API stands out:
1. Truly Global Language Support
Many OCR engines excel at English but struggle elsewhere. Our API supports over 80 global languages out of the box, including robust models for Chinese, German, French, Arabic, Japanese, and Korean. You can specify the language for optimal results, or let the engine detect it automatically.
2. Intelligent Multi-Page PDF Processing
In the real word, documents aren't just single JPEGs; they are 50-page PDFs. We don't force you to split PDFs into individual images before sending them. Send us the whole PDF URL, and our API processes it page-by-page, returning a structured JSON response grouped logically by page number.
3. More Than Just Text: Structured Data
We don't just dump a blob of plain text back to you (unless that's what you ask for). Our default JSON response provides rich metadata, including:
By launching on the AWS Marketplace, we are making procurement effortless for AWS customers.
